this has been the hardest song for me to ever write, and mix. its has been very emotional as it is not a song as much as my feelings as to what has happened. maybe through his eyes as well. I write purely from instinct and emotion, so when you decide to make judgement on it, make sure you listened to it from his and my perspective. what you hear is emotions translated into music sounds. all parts have relevant meaning as they are. the way Jason left was a long drawn out spiral into the end alone and gone. his loss is never replaced.
Jason was loved by many as a sincere and calm individual. his laugh and smile were heartfelt as were is general being. when I first got a guitar I met Jason and we jammed a bit. later on he was the one who saw me get bitten by the copperhead. memories of him will never leave. although its been a year since his passing it still hurts just as much. Jasonfest was amazing to see all of the people I hadn't seen in years, unfortunately it took his death to get us together.
everyone leaves. But most too early. You are hearing the pain of loss, the frustration and shock. this is my goodbye to him.
the name of the song will be important to those who understand. we lost one. 20 will forever be a part of who I am, and who a lot of us are. To my friends, this is equally dedicated to you all who knew him and know why it feels like to miss him.
I dedicate this to Jason Myrick, and to all of those who suffered from his loss. please feel free to message me or go to you tube and comment on the song. Also to Cynthia Bennett for the loss of her mother.
I miss and love you brother.
and all my friends love to you all.
